Hello and Welcome!
I provide individualized and small group tutoring for all grades and all subjects in Scottsdale, AZ, and throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. In addition to improving their grades, students learn study skills that will enable them to be successful throughout their entire academic career. My goal is to enable students to become comfortable and confident in their academic pursuit and achieve their full potential.
I concentrate on Pre-K (4-5 year olds) - 8th grade, English as a Second Language (ESL), and preparing students for Kindergarten (Reading readiness/phonics/comprehension) and particularly in Math up to 7th-8th grades.
After doing an assessment with your child, I focus on academic weaknesses and reinforce skills learned throughout the school year.
I taught in both elementary and junior high schools in Arizona and China for over 20 years and have over 22 years of private tutoring experience. Currently I have just returned to Arizona from teaching at an international school in Shenzhen, China for the past three years.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in English as a Second Language (ESL).
Tutoring usually takes place at my home in Old Town Scottsdale, but sometimes at local libraries and in rare cases, the child's school. Other accommodations may be made for an additional fee, depending upon the location.
